Role of The Mayor

The 2016 Mayor-Council Act (Sec. 4.06) gives the Mayor power to solve City issues, including the ability to:

  1. Enforce City Laws/Ordinances.
  2. Manage the City’s Day-to-Day Operations.
  3. Hire Necessary Staff To Fix City Problems.
  4. Make Key Appointments To Boards & Agencies (BWWB, Airport Authority, MPO, etc.)
